Know Before You Go
Check out a list of what you need for a seamless training experience. Stay prepared prior to attending your next class.
Trainings are offered both online and in-person.

Our live online learning support services are available Monday-Friday 7am-8pm, on Saturday and Sunday during class times.
Please keep in mind the following information is required to receive credit and stipend.
For Child Care Providers
- Please check out the IL Gateways Training Guide. This chart indicates the DCFS Training Requirements for Licensed Family Child Care Providers.
- For virtual classes please have the Zoom app downloaded on your mobile device or laptop before class. Check out a how-to guide here.
- Certificates are not given, please click here to learn how to locate your PDR (Professional Development Record).
- Providers cannot attend class while caring for children. You will need an assistant to provide care during trainings if children are present.
- Child Care Providers MUST be Family CC Licensed, or Licensed Exempt/ Family, Friends, and Neighbors FFN (CCAP children).
- During class check-in, please provide your Gateways ID# so that credit for the class is reported to your PDR.
- Spanish ECE attendees will have a full calendar year to make up sessions (tiers offered twice a year).
- English ECE attendees will only have 90 days to make up sessions (tiers offered every month).
- During your class via Zoom keeping your video on is highly recommended but optional.
- Please wear something that is comfortable and presentable.
- Per State of IL’s policy, streaming while driving is against the law.
- While in a virtual class, please inform the facilitator if you are stepping away. Reconnect immediately if connection is lost.
- You are required to wait 365-days before repeating class. Stipends will only be paid for classes attended after 1 year. Please note that not all classes have a stipend attached (First Aid/CPR, Food Handler, and most Informationals).
- You can only take one class at a time. Attending two classes at the SAME TIME will automatically NULLIFY Credit/Stipend for both classes.
- Please complete all end of class documents. An e-signature must be completed for each class. If unable to complete, please contact MRC @ 866-933-7348 #3 on the next business day.
- Stipend Policy and Timeframe: 4-6 weeks after the completion of class and any outstanding documentation is received if needed. Let us know of any changes/updates to your name or mailing address to prevent delays.
For Homecare Workers
- For virtual classes please have the Zoom app downloaded on your mobile device or laptop before class. Check out a how-to guide here.
- New Hire Orientation (NHO) must be taken within 6 months of employment.
- Mandatory IP Training must be taken annually within 365 days of employment.
- You must be actively working as a DORS PA with a client to be eligible for a stipend.
- During your virtual class you will be required to have your video/camera on.
- Please wear something that is comfortable and presentable.
- Per the State of IL’s policy, attending a virtual class while driving is against the law.
- Because these are paid trainings, you must clock out of work with your client while you are attending a virtual class.
- While in a virtual class, please inform the facilitator if you are stepping away. Reconnect immediately if connection is lost.
- You are required to wait 365-days before repeating class. Stipends will only be paid for classes attended after 1 year. Please note that not all classes have a stipend attached (i.e. First Aid/CPR & HCII Mental Health Wellness Programming).
- You can only take one class at a time. Attending two classes at the SAME TIME will automatically NULLIFY Credit/Stipend for both classes.
