Belinda D. Carter-Williams, 1 yr and 9 months at SEIU-METC. I have facilitated trainings in both DORS and Childcare divisions. My favorite part of working for METC is the flexibility and camaraderie with the people in METC. I get to spend time with my family and friends. Meet new people and network with others in the union. DORS training is my favorite because I get to learn new information and I can demonstrate what I learned or hold a conversation about my knowledge as an IP/PA.  

My first employer was my mother. She had (CKD) Chronic Renal Disease, I knew nothing about CKD prior to working with her; I was her volunteer for 8 years and active PA for 5 years until her death in 2020. My current employer has (MS) Multiple Sclerosis. I knew nothing about MS prior to working with him; However, after working with him for the past 4 years, it has provided insight into the effects of MS on the nervous system. Recently, I have become my sister’s PA. Due to my knowledge of CKD I am able to provide care and assistance to her.
