Felicia

Training and Outreach Specialist

Felicia started as an OSHA instructor around March 2016; she is now a Training and Operations Specialist who has been with the METC for about 6.5 years in this capacity but labeled as an instructor also.  This ministry that she shares is with HomeCare individual providers who assist customers of the Home Service Program.  It truly blesses her to be able to draw others to think of those for whom they are providing services.  Presenting the information for Nutrition and Exercise elates Felicia knowing that she gets to learn of their culture and expose them to hers while exposing better ways to choose food and eating.

This lady will give all her energy and strength to education and fairness.  She believes that all people should have access to increasing their knowledge and getting fair treatment.  That is what sparked her being one the people to campaign for and help vote in ACTWU for a baby products manufacturing company where she worked in the early 90’s; Felicia was on the initial bargaining team that gained workers their very first contract with Luv’n Care. She frequently says, “Give what you want to receive.”  This is a take from “the Golden rule.”

Many avenues, experiences, and occupations led Felicia to the work she does today. She started as a Sunday school, BTU, VBS, and Bible study teacher in her home and local church around the ages of 10-12 first by mimicking her mother before getting assigned groups and classes of her own.  In school, her teachers would get her to help classmates who needed a little assistance. This even happened with her in workplaces. Felicia has lead cohorts, youth groups, and resident councils in life-skills, job readiness, and other types of personal enrichment.

Not only does she instruct others, she accepts as many opportunities as possible to gain more information for herself and to share. With that being said, this woman has attended and received a gamut of training in several areas.

Felicia has volunteered with pantries, clothes drives, holiday baskets, backpack giveaways, etc. in her local church, neighborhood organizations, and with friends.  She lends a helping hand whenever she hears or spots there is a need and she can be available. Her serving heart was enhanced by watching how her mother gave and did.  It grew even more when she assisted her godmother before even becoming her personal assistant.  Felicia would have continued with her cousin without ever getting paid as she did with her daughter, Grace, who was approved to have Felicia as her PA, but death met her before she experienced her mom, Felicia, being her employee.
