Margie joined METC in 2018 as a DORS instructor and currently a Training and Outreach Specialist. Her background includes instructing evidence-based curriculums at the Cook County Detention Center and with UIC School of Public Health. Prior to this role, she served as a case manager and mental health advocate, working with the Department of Children and Family Services. She was on the instructional team that trained for the Genentech ADRD pilot which offered a Spanish class for Spanish-speaking providers.
Margie recognizes the significance and importance of high-quality training for workforce development and skill enhancement. She demonstrates a passion for instructing by encouraging participation and using realistic everyday examples to explain the content of the classes. Margie hopes to continue to support SEIU METC and its Community Training Initiative by delivering top-of-the-line trainings one-training at a time.
