Natalie

Training and Outreach Assistant

Natalie started working for SEIU METC in May of 2021 as a part-time contractor for facilitation. During my time of employment with SEIU METC I worked in the childcare field for 5 years . I worked in home daycare, daycare centers and schools . I enjoyed working as teacher for many years because I loved the impact, I made in children’s lives I enjoyed teaching them new things and helping them reach their milestones along the way I also enjoyed the bond I had with each of my students and being able to nature them as it is a motherly thing since I have 3 children.

My favorite part about working with SEIU METC is how everyone is so welcoming and how they treat you like family that is one important thing for me is to know I am welcome and loved in order for me to thrive in an environment. My favorite training is Understanding the Affects of ACES in Children’s Development because I can relate to this adverse trauma due to my mother abandoning at a young age when I was a child . I enjoy this class because it talks about the different kinds of traumas, how they happen and what we can do to fix it over time, so it won’t affect our children’s life’s moving forward. Things I like to do is volunteer to my children’s school (CPS) when they have holiday party’s and field trips because I love interacting with children, they simply bring out the best in me . I have won one reward in the past year from my kid’s school and it for Parent Honors. I was so excited as this has been my only reward I have won.
