My name is Tijuana (TJ), I joined the METC Instruction Team as an Online training facilitator in June 2022.  In my current role as a Training and Outreach Assistant I work with both DORS Home Care workers and Childcare Providers throughout the state of Illinois.

One of my favorite parts about working with METC is providing support to care workers as they gain new skills and education for their professional development. I appreciate the opportunity to assist the people that care for the most vulnerable members of our society.

My favorite trainings are any trainings that include nutrition, fitness and wellness. This is due to my passion for learning topics involving holistic health and mental/emotional wellness. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and background in Secondary Math Education as a high school math teacher. I’m currently working on my Master’s degree in Health and Wellness.

I live in central Illinois with my 2 young adult children and attend church where I participate in the choir and praise dance team. I enjoy reading, learning new things, singing karaoke and dancing at live music events.
