Yanci hails from Columbus, Mississippi.  She is a two-time graduate from Jackson State University, earning degrees: Bachelor of Science- Special Education and Master of Science- Rehabilitation Counseling.

She is committed to the betterment of her community.  When not working, Yanci assists seniors by accompany them to medical appointments, errands and preparing meals.  She is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated and a charter member of National Coalition of 100 Black Women- Chicago Metropolitan Chapter.
