"This was my second time taking a Child Care METC training, and I learned so much more! Additionally I now know that animal abuse can be reported by a mandated reporter. With each class it’s so refreshing, the instructors make it fun and bring education to life. It’s also very important as a provider to receive the training and a way for us to connect and learn from one another."

"I believe we truly need the program because so many of my coworkers didn’t know a thing about universal precautions, leadership and labor management. I think my facility would benefit since our job is not teaching basic skills like self- care and de-escalation anymore. Everyone needs just how important safety is our facility not just for ourselves but for the residents too."
Shunda Whitfield

"It (The Nursing Home Workers Safety Curriculum and Training Program) was very important because we learned how about de-escalation, problem solving, and self-care. We also learned how to give better care to our residents."

"After taking a Child Care training something that impacted me was how play-base meets cognitive, social emotional, and language. It develops the whole child. I also learned more about organization, leadership, listening, time management, collaboration, and empathy."

"Mindfulness Practice: Meditation was the best class I’ve ever attended - the part that had the most impact was the fact that everyone cares so much about the children in their program, just like I do! I also enjoyed the fact that everyone participated. I am planning to teach my kids more affirmations!"

"The training was informative and I feel like I can now use the knowledge I gained everyday in my role.
The instructors where clear and ready to repeat anything we needed to understand. Overall the team spearheading these 6 modules were very professional, and everyone as a collective
made my experience wonderful. Excellent learning techniques!"

"A particular moment that impacted me the most after taking the class, Bringing Books to Life, was the portion when the instructor displayed her garden reading nook. It was so beautiful and whimsical. I learned new ways to integrate more reading and learning material into my own Child Care program."

"I have been a CNA in St. Louis for 18 years. Something like this (Nursing Home Worker Training) is very much needed in this field for us nurses and for the residents. Being in a Nursing home every day, things change - it never goes as a set schedule. Having better skills (training to justify and keep up) and a support system to help with that (consistent changes and new challenges daily) would be so much better for the nurses and the residents. Again, it's not just for us nurses' safety, it's for the resident safety."

"After taking an ECE Credential course, I appreciated the input from the other participants. We formed a close learning community from the training event. A learned skill that I will implement in my program was to focus on higher direct engagement with the school age children and allowing for more independent activities."

"The Strengthening Communication Skills course was well prepared and full of useful information. Learning how to communicate with our consumers more effectively will benefit in the long run of our relationships; building bonds through effective and understandable communication skills are at the core of us all evolving. The class was well put together – I would highly recommend to others."

"Body Mechanics and Safe Lifting was very informative, I walked away with so much knowledge. The instructor was helpful, friendly and kind. I enjoyed learning the importance of lifting and standing up straight also being able to tell my consumer the right way to help her walk with her cane."

"The New Hire Orientation class provided insightful learning about the scope and responsibilities of an IP position. Where to go for specific help and how to receive additional training that’s available. The course kept my attention and gave valuable information that will help me do my job."

"Great job to all the instructors who taught all 6 classes. I learned to be more patient and finding things in the house to use as a game. For instance, I spy with my little eye has been great. Additionally, I learned that being around others that are actually already experiencing and dealing with AD, you gain extra skills to use rather than just being taught it"

"After I took the Nutrition and Exercise for People with Physical Disabilities class, I learned how to prepare a variety of nutritious meals, and encourage movement when possible within proper doctor guidelines. This course was very informative!"

"The Nutrition and Exercise for People with Physical Disabilities course was very good. It prompted us to think outside of our comfort zone when it comes to nutrition and yet feel comfortable speaking about it. I also enjoyed the break out sessions. Those gave us an opportunity to learn food habits based on culture."
