Course description

Childcare providers are often the first consistent adults supporting children through distress, yet many receive limited training in how trauma shapes development or how to respond in real time while staying regulated themselves.

This class is a two-day training that integrates foundational trauma-informed early childhood care with practical guidance for supporting children experiencing or at risk of family separation. Providers will gain both the developmental understanding and the hands-on skills needed to respond with self/co-regulation, care, and emotional safety.

Holding the Invisible Break: Foundations and Practice of Trauma-Informed Conversations About Family

A learned skill that I will implement in my program was to focus on higher direct engagement with the school age children and allowing for more independent activities.
