METC offers courses for DORS workers. Check out the full listing of course descriptions and upcoming trainings below. For Voluntary trainings, you are required to wait 365-days before repeating class. Stipends will only be paid for classes attended after 1 year.

1. Mandatory Annual IP Training for DORS

2. New Hire Orientation

Bathing & Bedmaking

Work with the safest and most efficient techniques that protect a consumer's dignity while making an occupied bed, bathing, and helping with grooming and personal hygiene.

Body Mechanics and Safe Lifting

Prevent injury with proper body mechanics.

First Aid and CPR (DORS Only)

Learn to recognize and respond to cardiac, breathing and first aid emergencies and to use an Automatic External Defibrillator.

HCII Mental Health Wellness Programming 4 Part Series

The Mental Health Initiative’s Psychoeducational Series recognizes and prioritizes the importance of mental health education, community building, and community empowerment for our membership at SEIU HCII.

Navigating Stress and Understanding Trauma for Caregivers

This class introduces participants to the ways trauma and chronic stress affect the brain, body, and behavior. We will explore different types of trauma, stress responses, and how they can show up in everyday life through a neuroscience and relational framing.

Nutrition and Exercise for People with Disabilities

Apply the latest guidelines on healthy living habits that can improve the lives of people who have disabilities.
