Did you receive a letter from SEIU and the State of IL regarding your Required Mandatory Training? An agreement between SEIU and the State requires all Incumbent Individual Providers (IPs) currently working for a Customer of the Illinois Department of Human Services (IDHS) Division of Rehabilitation Services Home Services Program to attend a Mandatory PAID training class.

Featured METC Trainings

METC offers a variety of trainings, both online and in-person, covering a wide range of topics, all at no cost to the care worker. DORS Homecare Workers and Child Care Providers are even eligible to earn a stipend for completing most trainings.

DORS New Hire Orientation

This training provides new PAs/IPs with essential information about their role. Attendees will gain an understanding of Self-Directed Assistance, Customer-Employer etiquette, the Service Plan, and an overview of other paid training opportunities provided by METC.

Community Training 
Initiative

We are so excited to share that our Community Training Initiative is coming in 2024. The Community Training Initiative (CTI) is a pending 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to providing education and training to healthcare, homecare, child care, and hospital workers across Illinois, Indiana, Missouri, and Kansas. CTI was formed in partnership with the Helen Miller SEIU Member Education and Training Center (METC) based on the growing opportunity to meet various community training needs.
