The Montessori Method emphasizes the first teacher is the child’s environment. Maria Montessori observed children in their natural learning environments and identified through the prepared environment children can develop independency, self-confidence, opportunities for growth and learning, and self-regulation. In this training we will comprehend the importance of the environment set up using the Montessori Method. We will demonstrate that a teacher’s (guide’s) role is to provide the lessons to prepare children’s environment. Also, we will explore the different avenues also known as learning areas such as: the practical life, sensorial development, language, and mathematical avenue.
